GALCHENYUK

SR.

Alex Galchenyuk Sr. (“Galchenyuk Sr.”) serves as President of Hockey Operations for Galchenyuk Business Enterprises (GBE)

Galchenyuk Sr. started his professional hockey career in 1983, at the age of 16, with the Dynamo Minsk. At 18, he won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships for the Soviet National Ice Hockey team (Team USSR). In 1989, he was scouted by the HC Dynamo Moscow, where he continued to play until 1996; during which he represented the Soviet National Ice Hockey team at the 1991 Canada Cup. Galchenyuk Sr. played professionally for 23 years (until 2007) across the United States, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, and Belarus. During his professional hockey career, he continued to play for the Soviet National Ice Hockey team.

Galchenyuk Sr. played in the 1998 Winter Olympics (Nagano 1998) for the Belarusian National Ice Hockey team. In 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 he played for the Belarusian National Ice Hockey team in the IIHF World Championships.

After 23 years of playing professionally, Galchenyuk Sr. retired to pursue a career in coaching. His coaching career is as impressive as his playing experience, having coached for the Dynamo Moscow, Chicago Young Americans, and the Sarnia Sting of the OHL.

Galchenyuk Sr. keeps a close eye on his son Alex Galchenyuk, NHL player for the Minnesota Wild. Sr. has developed a systematic training method, termed ‘RABOTA,’ for on/off-season training. His son is a testament to the RABOTA training method, as the father-son duo has worked side by side throughout Alex’s entire ice hockey career.

Galchenyuk Sr. always seeks innovation in training to ensure that athletic progress is incessant. He’s persistent in aligning the right people and team, creating a solid support structure around his son and his clients. Galchenyuk Sr. offers personalized hockey training sessions and hockey consultations through North America and Europe (currently Montreal, Miami, Phoenix, Minsk, Moscow, and Asiago).
